Biography

John Elmer Cherry was born May 20tn 1804 in Pennsylvania. He was the son of Nicholas Cherry and Elizabeth Burgoon. He married 1st, Lydia Andrews or Anderson. Children born to this couple are listed in the christening records of St. Patricks recorded in the Biography and History of Blair County: Jacob, b.1829; Nicolas A. 1830; Thomas A. 1932; John 1834; Samuel 1834; and Henry 1838. He is first found on a tax list in Antis, Blair, Pa in 1846. He m. 2nd Nancy Mulhollen and they are found on the 1850-1870 censuses and probably had no children unless a record can be found for James M. ) He passed away before 1879 as his will was probated Feb 20, 1879.
