Biography
Elmanson Chesebro was born 29 May 1813. He was the twelfth child of Jesse Chesebrough and Martha Ann Putnam. The location of his birth was probably Manlius, New York, where his birth family had settled.
Regarding the Chesebrough historical family surname, during the early 1800s some descendants intentionally foreshortened the spelling to Chesebro, which this person apparently did.
He married 31 Dec 1840 Mary Sweet (21 May 1821 @ Pompey, New York - 3 May 1887 @ Los Angeles, California); they had 4 children, born in Phoenix, New York:
