DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Benjamin by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Benjamin:
The marriage date of Benjamin F Chesley and Polly McDuffee is listed in the John Hayes book as Nov. 13, 1852. But it appears that her death date was before the marriage date that I have. I think she must have lived until 1932, at least, as she was helping the author of the Hayes book and the author credits Polly as giving her records for the genealogy book. Which would make her at least 114 so it is a debatable point. I give you the information to use as you wish.
