Biography

US Black Heritage Project
Martha (Chestnut) Parker is a part of US Black heritage.

In the 1880 census Martha (age 4) was the daughter of Samuel Chestnut (1853-1920) and Flora A. (Lewis) Chestnut (1855-bef.1920) in Little River, Horry, South Carolina.[1] Before 1910, she married Charley Parker and lived in Socastee, Horry, South Carolina.[2] Children were:

  • Joe Cephas Parker (1901–1956)
  • Flora Parker (1902–Deceased)
  • Henry Jr. Parker (1903–1954)
  • Allen Parker (1905–Deceased)
  • Lucy Parker (1907–1960)
  • William B Ervin (1907–Deceased)
  • Violet Parker (1908–Deceased)
  • Charlie Parker (1910–Deceased)

She died at age 40 on 17 May 1919 in Bucks Township, Horry, South Carolina according to her death certificate.[3][4] She was actually 43.
