Jean Baptiste Chiasson was born about 1692. He was was the child of Gabriel Chiasson and Marie-France Savoie. He was age 8 on the 1700 census of Beaubassin.
He married first, Madeleine Boudrot, daughter of the late Michel Boudrot and Magdeleine Cormier 13 Feb 1714 at Beaubassin. Witnesses were Alexis Cormier, Joseph Hache and Michel Hache, who all signed.[1][2]

He married second, Marie Pitre, daughter of Claude Pitre and the late Marie Comeau 28 May 1722 at Port Royal.[3][4]

He passed away 12 Feb 1758, aged about 65 years and was buried the next day at St. Pierre du Nord, Ile St. Jean, Acadia.[5]
