Biography

Elie was born on Feb 6, 1837 to David Chiasson and Catherine LeBlanc.^[1] He is noted as Alexandre Chiasson in the parish register where he has the following children with Margaret Doucette;

• John - 25 May 1869
• Isiah - 19 Oct 1870
• David - 10 Jul 1872
• Catherine - 5 Jul 1874
• Helene - 30 Dec 1876
• Moses - 12 Apr 1879
• Elizabeth - 26 Nov 1881

I believe Elie can be found under Alex Chesson (45) on the 1881 census with wife Margaret (42). I suspect this enumerator "Campbell" was Scottish and perhaps didn't get the names correct here. The children are listed as follows; Judith (14), John (12), Gedore (10), David (8), Catherine (6), Ellen (4), Moses (2).^[2]
