Jacques Chiasson, son of Sebastien Chiasson and Marie Belou, was born about 1694[1] probably in Beaubassin, but surely in Acadie. Stephen White doesn't give a specific place of birth, Bona Arsenault places him in Beaubassin. HIs birth year is confirmed in 1700.[2]

The family moved to Isle Saint Jean in about 1750, with nine children (some may have married and not come with them). His age of 69 is thought to be a mistake.[7]
They survived the initial Isle Saint Jean deportations to Europe, with Jacques and his family listed in the 1763 Letter to the King of France (Census) living next to his father in A Tracadie on the Isle of St Jean.[8]
Death: The last census found is for 1767 when Jacques is said to be 71 years old. He was age 6 on the census of 1700 so age 71 agrees with his being born around 1694, roughly. [9]
