Marie Chiasson was born about 1696, the 2nd child of Sebastien Chiasson and Marie Belou. She was born in Port Royal, Acadia.
Her father, Sebastien Chiasson, died in 1703, when Marie was about 7 years old. Her mother remarried to Francois LaPierre in 1708.
In 1714, Marie married Jean Baptiste Vecot (son of Francois Vecot and Francoise Poirier).[1][2] They were married in Beaubassin, Acadia. They had 12 children:

Around 1727, the family moved from Beaubassin to Ile St. Jean (Prince Edward Island) during that time, as many families were doing to escape the British.
Her eldest 2 daughters, who both had families of their own at the time, died while on Ile St. Jean.
She was exiled to France along with Jean Baptiste in 1758 by the British as part of the Grand Derangement.
She died at age 62. along with Jean Baptiste and several of her children and their families, in the wreck of the ship "la Violet" during the crossing to France.
