Biography

Ludivine Chiasson was born on 9 July 1770 on St John's Island (now called Prince Edward Island or PEI). She was baptized on 21 June 1772 in Nepisiguit (present-day Bathurst, N.B.). Her parents were Joseph Chiasson and Anne Haché dit Gallant. [1] Her godfather François Bourg, and her godmother was Genevieve Chiasson. She, along with her siblings Jean-de-Dieu Chiasson, Scholastique Chiasson and Pélagie Chiasson were baptised on the same day, as the Abbé Bailly was in the area.

She married Joseph Paulin, son of Jean Baptiste Paulin dit Poulin and Isabelle Élisabeth Gasse, on 21 June 1792 in Miscou, Gloucester, New Brunswick.[2][3]

She passed away on 7 Jul 1832 in Caraquet and was buried on 11 July 1832. [4][2]

Research Notes

  • Isle Saint Jean is the present-day province of Prince Edward Island, Canada.
  • Abbé Bailly's register (which recorded the baptism) was housed in Caraquet but covers an area from Louisbourg to Gaspé and Labrador.

Chiasson-922 and Chiasson-633 appear to represent the same person because: I just adopted Chiasson-922 and it is a clear duplicate to Chiasson-633. 922 doesn't have as good a biography and sources as 633.

There is no source to indicate that she married both brothers.
