Birth & Upbringing: Darius was born in the Victoria District in 1949.
Family: Darius married Linias and together they had two children, Tamburai and Kudzai.
Occupation: Policeman - joined the BSA Police in October 1967;Reg. No. 19467; served until June 1979. After passing out at Tomlinson Depot, Darius served at Concession and then Mt. Darwin police stations.
Honours and Awards: He was award the Commissioner's Commendation while at Concession for the role he played, his devotion and duty during counter insurgency operations.
Demise: Killed in action - terrorist action while serving as a Sergeant with Duty Uniform in Mt Darwin (Operation Hurricane), Rhodesia. He was 30 years of age. [1] [2]. He died alongside his colleague Willard Nyapfumbi
Burial: Darius Chibaya was buried at the Warren Hills Cemetery on 6 July 1979 following a semi-military funeral[3]
