Benjamin Franklin had this to say about his family:
"...they [the Franklin family] lived in the same village, Ecton, in Northamptonshire, on a freehold of about thirty acres, for at least three hundred years, and how much longer could not be ascertained.
"My father married young, and carried his wife [Ann] with three children to New England, about 1685... By the same wife my father had four more born there, and by a second, ten others; in all seventeen; of whom I remember to have seen thirteen sitting together at his table; who all grew up to years of maturity and were married. I was the youngest son, and the youngest of all the children except two daughters. I was born in Boston, in New England."
Ann Ye Wife Of Josiah Francklin
Aged About 34 Years Died July
Ye 9th 1689.
(This date is suspect as it is the same date as her death. Probably should be "about 1655.")

First wife of Josiah Franklin. Married in 1677, they had 3 children while still in England. After immigrating to America in 1682, they had 4 more. She died from the effects of giving birth to her 7th child.
