Birth and Family

Elizabeth (Child) Bigelow was born on 20 Jul 1670, in Watertown, Middlesex, Massachusetts Bay Colony. She was the daughter of John Child (1636-1671) and Mary (Warren) Fiske (1651-1734).

Marriage

Elizabeth Child married James Bigelow (1660-1728) on 3 Jul 1693, in Sherborn, Middlesex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony. ^[1]Together, Elizabeth and James Bigelow had a total of three children.

1. James Bigelow, b. 06 ay 1688, in Watertown, Middlesex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony; d. 09 Sep 1718, in Casco Bay, Maine.

1. Patience (Bigelow) Wood, b. 30 Sept 1693; d. 23 Jan 1772, in Groton, Massachusetts Bay Colony. Married Samuel Wood on 20 Nov 1720. Lived in Groton, Massachusetts.

2. John, d. 15 Nov 1694. Howe's Bigelow Genealogy places this child second in the order and a child of James's first wife Patience. Town records, however, specify John as "the child of James & Elizabeth", so that we are inclined to place his birth but a short time, perhaps a matter of days or weeks, before his death.

3. Abraham, b. 12 Nov 1699; d. 1726, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Abraham was unmarried.

Elizabeth passed away on 20 Apr 1707, in Watertown, Middlesex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony.

Notes

Elizabeth was the daughter of John Child and Mary (Warrin) Child. John passed away in 1676, and Elizabeth's mother, Mary, re-married Nathaniel Fiske on 13 Apr 1677. Eight children were born to Nathaniel and Mary, half brothers and sisters to Elizabeth.
