Robert was born about 1750 in what would later become 96th District, Laurens County, South Carolina. Robert Childress lived until 1799. [1]Refer to Find A Grave: Memorial #139908316, where his spouse is named as Mary "Polly" Garner (probably born before 1760, given the age of some of their children); daughter of James Giles Garner (ca. 1742-1794) and Elizabeth Byrn (ca. 1750-1814).[citation needed]
Robert appears in the 1790 Greenville, South Caroline census.[2]
Robert Childres (sic) also appears in the American Genealogical-Biographical Index (AGBI).[3]
