Biography

When Walter Cameron Childs was born on 28 October 1845, in Pittsburgh, Allegheny, Pennsylvania, United States, his father, Harvey Childs Sr., was 43, and his mother, Jane Bailey Lowrie, was 39. He married Edith Worcester Smith on 5 October 1879. They were the parents of 4 sons and 2 daughters. He lived in Allegheny City, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1850, and Yonkers, Westchester, New York for about 15 years. He died on 18 July 1934, in Bryn Athyn, Montgomery, Pennsylvania, at the age of 88, and was buried in the Bryn Athyn Cemetery, Montgomery, Pennsylvania. He was a founder of the General Church of the New Jerusalem (Swedenborgian)
