Biography

Henry was born in 1865 in Grafton, N.S.W. He was the son of Thomas Childs and Rebecca Bailey.

In Abt 1895 in New South Wales he married his first wife Emily Ada Selwood with whom he had at least 5 children. She passed away in 1904 and he married Henrietta Spindler in 1905 in New South Wales and they had another 5 children.

He passed away in Kingaroy Queensland in 1928. [1] and he is buried in the Memerambi Cemetery, near Kingaroy. QLD. [2]

Per his obituary in The Northern Star on Tuesday 5th June1928[3] A former resident of this district in the person of Mr. Henry Childs, died at Kingaroy on Sunday night. The late Mr. Childs was a farmer at Lagoon Grass for some time and was the eldest son of the late Thomas Childs, of "London Bridge Farm," Coraki. Messrs. Thomas and E.J. Childs, of Coraki, are brothers. Sisters of deceased are Mesdames R. Cave and McLean (Coraki), M. Patch (Lismore), and Jamesen (Ballina).
