Biography
Richard was born about 1836. Richard Childs ... [1]
Richard B. Childs enlisted in the Confederate Army on 25 Sep 1861 in Campell Co., Georgia, USA. He enlisted as a private in Company G, 30th Infantry Regiment Georgia.
On 16 Dec 1864 while serving as a sergeant in Company G, 30th Infantry Regiment Georgia he was captured by Union forces near Nashville, Tennessee.
Immediately after capture he was sent to Knoxville. Then on 2 Jan 1865 he was transferred to Camp Chase, Ohio.
While at Camp Chase on 15 May 1865 he signed an Oath of Allegiance to the United States, which allowed him to return home. No more info is currently available for Richard Childs. Can you add to his biography?
