Biography

Joseph Chiles, son of Joseph was baptised on 29 Sep 1703 at Dorset. [1]

The children of Joseph and Mary were baptised in Melbury Osmond, Dorset, England:

  • Joanna Childs, christened on 21 September 1731 [2]
  • Maria Childs, christened on 09 May 1736 [3], or perhaps 30 May 1736 [4]
  • Joseph Childs, christened on 07 September 1741 [5]
  • Catharine Chiles, christened on 12 August 1745 [6] or 12 August 1746 [7]

He passed away about 1772.

Research Notes

There is currently no independent confirmation that the father of Joseph Chiles bp in 1741 is the Joseph Chiles bp in 1703. No marriage has been located. Death date about 1772 is unsourced. A Joseph Chiles was buried in 1770 at Melbury Osmond, but the transcribed record doesn't include an age at death.
