Biography

William was baptised on 4 July 1886 at Hounslow Heath. His parents were William and Mary Elizabeth. William was a Staff Sergeant in the 3rd Fusiliers. [1]

In 1901 his father had retired from the Army and William was living with his parents and siblings in Isleworth. [2]

On 22 February 1905 at the age of 19, William married Gladys Edith Knight in All Saints, Fulham. [3]

In 1911 William and Gladys were living with Glady's mother, Ellen in Fulham. They had 5 children, Arthur, Gladys, Francis, Frederick and William. William was a Traveller (Salesman). [4]

In 1939 William John b. 13 June 1886 was living in Acton with Sarah Rebecca (nee West) as his wife. No marriage certificate has been found. In 1941 Sarah Rebecca West married Frederick Harwood. William was a Turf Accountant. [5]

William Childs died in Maidenhead in 1945. [6]

Probate went to Sara Rebecca Harwood, wife of Frederick Albert Harwood. William's address had been: Clare Villa, 14 Norfolk Road, Maidenhead. [7]

Maidenhead: William's mother, Mary Elizabeth supposedly died in Maidenhead in 1941.
