Biography
Enoch was born in 1843. He was the son of Thomas Chilton and Elizabeth Handley or Hanley.
Enoch age 7 appears on the 1851 Census at 57 Dawley Common, Shropshire with his parents Thomas age 39 and Elizabeth age 39, and siblings William age 15, Henry age 13, Fanny age 11, and Mary Ann age 5. His birth place is recorded as Dawley, Shropshire. [1]

No birth record was found for Enoch, but a birth record for a male child registered in 1843 with the surname Chilton and mother's maiden name Hanley was found on the GRO index. [3]
