Viola Jane Chilton was born in Missouri in 1869, the daughter of James and Martha Chilton.
Viola was with her parents James and Martha, and siblings Benjamin, Lilly, Lizzy and John living in Carter, Missouri at the time of the 1870 census [1]
She was age 11 and living with her mother Mattie, and siblings B.F, Lizzie and John in Carter, Missouri when the 1880 census was taken. [2]
She married William Amiable Partney on 10 September 1890 in Carter, Missouri.[3]
In 1900, the family were living in Jackson & Kelley Townships, Carter, Missouri, and comprised of head of the house William, age 34, his wife Viola age 31 and children James age 9, Mattie age 7, Gracie age 6 and William age 4. Also living with them are 55 year old Eli Partney, William's father, and 65 year old Mattie S Chilton, Viola's mother [4]
The family remained in Kelly township, and in 1910, William and Viola were living there with children James, Mattie, Gracie and William, and Viola's mother Mattie, now 74 years old. [5]
William and Viola were still living in Kelly, Carter, Missouri in 1920, with their youngest son William, his older siblings had all moved away. [6]
