Biography

George was born in 1879.[1]

He is on the 1880 Fed Census with his family.[2]

He is also on the 1900 Fed Census with his mother and siblings.[3]

The wedding register for his marriage to Beatrice lists his parents names. It was George's first marriage and a second marriage for Beatrice. [4][5]

They are listed as a couple on the 1910 Fed Census in Illinois, in the household is Beatrice's sister Hulda L Funkey and Beatrice's daughter May Beatrice Wilson. [6]

George has two children born 1911 and 1913, George Wilhelm Fredrick Chipman and Bertha(Birdie) Chipman. The children are both descendants of Effie Lamont not Beatrice Funkey.(DNA testing on the two grandaughters prove that the relatives of Effie are matches to them and not the relatives of Beatrice Funkey {Patrick-2573 23:51, 27 January 2024 (UTC)})

The wife Beatrice remarries in 1915 so they must have been divorced.

There is a WWI draft registration record dated 12 Sept 1918 for George.[7]

He passed away 8 Oct 1918. [8]

He also has a find a grave index and is buried in Oak Wood Cemetery [9]

Notes

There is a letter from Bertha(Birdie) Chipman Mayes to her sister-in-law Helen Peterson Wright explaining the parents of the children George and Birdie. Wedding of George to Effie has not been found.
