Biography

Lemuel was born about 1782 in Pawlet, Rutland, Vermont, the oldest of seven known children and six sons of Lemuel and Asenath Jesina Fitch Chipman.

At an unnknown date and place Lemuel married Laura Mead and they became the parents of two known children, both daughters:

1. Asenatha Fitch (Chipman) Humphrey
2. Laura A. (Chipman) Hewett

When he was probably in his mid-sixties, Lemuel died of unknown causes, on 28 Apr 1844 in Manchester, Bennington, Vermont.^[1]

He is buried in the Frink's Corners Cemetery, Sheldon, Wyoming County, New York..^[2]
