Biography
Joseph's obituary reads: "Joseph "Joe" Chlebana, age 93 of Shelbyville, passed away January 15, 2014, at his home in Shelbyville. He was preceded in death by his wife Rose; his brothers: Chuck, Alex, and Mike; and his sister Millie. He will lovingly be remembered by his children: Joan Stark, Raymond (Donna) Chlebana, and Joe, Jr. (Sonia) Chlebana; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; his sisters and brothers: Julie Dodds, Ann (Erwin) Doublestein, Andy (Elizabeth) Chlebana, and Eleanor (Henry) Banas; and many nieces and nephews. Joe retired as a U.A.W. laborer for McInerney Spring & Wire Company. Joe was a league bowler, a fisherman and hunter. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Wayland VFW Post #7581. Friends may visit with his family on Monday, January 20, 2014 from 11 AM-12 PM at the Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services, 312 N. Main Street, Wayland. A funeral celebrating his life will be held at 12 PM, Monday at the funeral home, with Father Christian Johnston presiding. In honor of Joe, contributions may be made to Wayland VFW Post #7581." [1]
