Biography

George Griffith Floyd Chomley was born on 23rd December 1876 at Avoca, Victoria, Australia. He was the fourth son of George Chomley and Annie Peck.[1]

George served in the Second Boer War. He was a Lieutenant in the 1st Victorian Mounted Rifles.[2] He was later a Captain in the 5th Victorian Mounted Rifles.[3] He was Mentioned in Despatches; gazetted in London 29 July 1902 on page 4854 at position 28[4]

He passed away, aged 88 years, on 30th October 1965.
