Biography
Antoine Choinard was baptized on 17 Sep 1768 in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli parish. He was the son of Gabriel Chouinard and Françoise Toussaint. At age 27 Gabriel married Véronique Hugues on 13 Jan 1795 in Saint-Germain parish in Rimouski. At age 37 Antoine married Marie Angelique Vallée on 26 Nov 1805 in Saint-Germain parish. Antoine died on 2 Oct 1839 in Sainte-Luce parish and was buried two days later in the Saint-Germain parish cemetery in Rimouski.
NOTE: Il y a un frère - Gabriel, bapt le 30 juillet 1770, mort le 30 juin 1771, âgé de 12 mois. Ceci nous fait croire, que Gabriel 1 soit Antoine. [English: There is a brother - Gabriel, baptized on July 30, 1770, died on June 30, 1771, 12 months old. This makes us believe that Gabriel 1 is Antoine.] Nos Origines.
