Obituary: 6/1/1928 Deaths & Funerals (Friday) -- Robert Chowning, age 71, died Thursday morning at his home, 715 W. 21st. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Barry L. Chowning of Wichita, Kan., and Nathan M. Thompson of Tulsa, and two daughters, Mrs. A.J. Hunt, Seminole, and Miss Eva Chowning, Oklahoma City; also three brothers and one sister. Services will be held at the Hahn funeral home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. Matke of Edmond. Interment, Fairlawn. --6/1/1928 CHOWNING FUNERAL TO BE HELD TODAY (Friday)Four Weeks' Illness Fatal To Pioneer Resident. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday for Robert Chowning, 715 W. 21st street, who died Thursday after an illness of four weeks. The services will be held at the Hahn funeral home, with burial in Fairlawn cemetery. Chowning was 71 years old. He had been a resident of Oklahoma City for thirty years. He was in the real estate business for many years here and has been identified with the development of many of the additions to the city. Chowning was a member of the board which framed the charter for the city when the transfer was made to the charter form of government. Since 1913 he has served in the department of public works. Besides the wife, survivors include a son and a stepson, H.L. Chowning, Wichita, Kan., and Nathan Thompson of Tulsa; two daughters, Mrs. A.J.
