Biography

Mary cannot be a daughter of Thomas Christian and Ellinor Kewley and has been removed as their daughter. Thomas had left Isle of Man and was living in Colony of Virginia by 1657. She is obviously daughter of another Thomas Christian in Onchan, Isle of Man. It seems to be a common name. She appears to be the sister of Jane Christian; the descriptions of their father in birth records are the same.

Mary Christian, daughter of Thomas Christian of Slegabei [sic], was born about 1683 and was baptised on 9 June 1683 in Onchan, Isle of Man.^[1]
