Biography

Ellen was born about 1835, the daughter of Hugh Christian a labourer and his wife Ann Howland. She was baptised at Andreas, Isle of Man on 25 Mar 1835.^[1]

Ellen Christian married John Maddrell, a Corporal in the 39th Regiment at Maughold, Isle of Man in 1868.^[2] At that time her father was a butcher.

She passed away in 1918.^[3]
