Frank Christie CBE is part of a Bahamian family.

Biography

Frank Holmes Christie was born in 1902 in Nassau, Bahamas to Henry Christopher Christie and Margaret Alice Saunders Christie.

He married twice: first, in Nassau, in June 1926, to Anna Merle Moore, daughter of Labron and Alice Bannister Moore; and second, in the early 1950s, to Mrs. Francise (or Frances) Peabody Stillwell Salmon, daughter of Addison Stillwell of Chicago, Illinois. Frank and Merle Christie had two daughters: June Diane and Janet Deirdre.

Frank Holmes Christie, CBE, in association with his brother, Sir Harold George Christie, KT, CBE, founder of the real estate firm H.G. Christie Ltd. in 1922, spearheaded some of the largest real estate developments in The Bahamas. He served for decades in the House of Assembly as a Member of Parliament for Abaco and Cat Island and for two years as Deputy Speaker. He was also president of the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce.

Frank Holmes Christie died in 1978 at 75 years of age. He was buried in The Western Cemetery, Nassau, with the Christie family.
