Biography

Peter was born on 29 May 1896 in Denny, Stirlingshire. He is the son of Archibald Christie and Bessie Baillie. [1]

Peter enlisted as Private 303307 in the 1st/8th Battalion the Princess Louise's (Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders) Regiment in Clydebank, Dumbartonshire.[2]

Peter arrived in France on 18 April 1915 and, after the war, was posthumously awarded the 1915 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal.[3]

Peter was killed in action on 23 July 1918 and is buried in Buzany Military Cemetry. Buzany is a village in the Department Aisne 7km south of Soiessons and 50km west of Rems, Northern France.[4][5]
