Biography

Seeking the correct Andrew Christie and Elspet Christie: there are two of each born in Skateraw in the 1760s.

One Andrew was baptised on 15 May 1761, the son of William Christie, witnesses Andrew Broddie and Alexr Christie. This would make Elspet Chrystie baptised 20 June 1767 to Thomas Chrystie, witnessed by Andrew Hopkin and Peter Chrystie, a likely spouse.

The second Andrew Christie was baptised on 29 May 1764, son of Thomas Christie, witnesses Andrew Steven and Peter Christie; to avoid a sibling marriage it is more likely he wed Elspeth Christie born to William Christie and baptised on 8 November 1768, witnesses Peter Christie and William Freeman,

I suspect the first Andrew and second Elspeth are probably siblings, with William as their common father; similarly, the second Andrew and first Elspet share a father called Thomas!
