Biography

James D. Christie was born about 1842 in Halifax, North Carolina, United States. He was the son of Azariah Zachariah Ezariah Christie and Morning Drake. He, like his brothers, was a soldier in the Confederate Army of North Carolina in 1862. James married Frances Shearly on 5 May 1859 in Halifax, North Carolina, and together they raised a family. He passed away on 7 Jun 1862 in Wilmington Township, New Hanover, North Carolina.
