Notice

Sydney Morning Herald (NSW : 1842 - 1954), Saturday 5 March 1910, page 14. [1] KELMAN - CHRISTIE - February 16, 1910, at St. Philips Church, by the Rev. Canon Bellingham, M. A., William Nivison Kelman eldest son of the late John Busby Kelman of Ventnor, Tamworth, to Beatrice Alice, second daughter of the late Lieut.-Colonel William Beaver Blayney Christie, of the New South Wales staff, and formerly of 80th Regiment Foot, India.

Daily Telegraph (Sydney, NSW : 1883 - 1930), Friday 6 January 1911, page 6. [2] KELMAN. - At Bank of Australasia, Blayney, on January 3, 1911, Beatrice Alice, beloved wife of W. N. Kelman (also infant daughter); the daughter of the late Lieut.-Colonel W. P. N. Christie, 80th Regiment, India, aged 29.

Leader (Orange, NSW : 1899 - 1945), Wednesday 4 January 1911, page 2. [3] A SAD DEATH. Almost from the altar to the grave briefly describes the short happy union of Mr. W. H. Kelman, manager of the Bank of Australasia, Blayney, and his beloved wife, whose death it is our painful duty to record. Just twelve months ago the deceased was a charming bride, with the hopes of a long life of marital bliss animating her bosom. She stood on the threshold of a new life, and looking into the vista of the future her optimistic gaze saw nothing but happiness for her self and her loving partner. The dreams of years were realised; their union was consummated, and a delightful duet of life was played for a few months. Then happy as was the duet, the elysium of their earthly existence was foreshadowed by the promised trio. Lucky, indeed, it was for the happy couple that the veil of the near future could not be penetrated, and that the anticipated consummation of their union should prove their undoing. How Inscrutable and absolutely unassailable are the ways of Providence! It was best that the serenity and love of their union should not be disturbed by one anxious thought for the future. But man proposes, and God disposes. Mrs. Kelman died in childbirth last night. The keenest sympathy is, therefore, felt by all classes of the community for the bereaved husband. All who knew the late Mrs. Kelman and her husband are able to somewhat estimate the depth of his affliction. Charming dispositions such as the deceased possessed are rare in humanity. Gentle by birth, her life was gentle, and her aim appeared to be am to pour out by her every action and every word from its inexhaustible source much of that divine affection which bound her to her husband, and secondly to carry the consolations of Charity and comfort where they were most needed among less fortunately circumstanced humanity. She died as she had lived; her face, although displaying the hectic flush of the approaching final summons, was yet animated by the purity of a soul at peace with her Maker and with her fellows. Hard, indeed, is the lot of her widower. Only those who have lost a loving wife can truly estimate his loss, and the severity of the mental affliction. A profound and widespread sympathy from those who know him can in any way assuage his grief or lessen his mental burden, it is freely and universally given. The deceased lady was 29 years at age, and was the daughter of the late Lieut. Colonel W. P. P. Christie, of the 80th Regiment, India.
