James William Christie was born in 1796, son of Robert Christie (~1752–~1834) and Sarah Innis (~1773–1819).

James (33) married Margaret Wooler Oxley (20) (born about 1809 in Cumberland; daughter of George Oxley and Cynthia (Bent) Oxley) on February 9, 1830 in Wallace, Cumberland. Their known children were:

In 1871, James (74) was living in River Hébert, Cumberland, Nova Scotia. [1]

James died on December 1, 1872 in River Hébert, Cumberland, Canada, aged 75. He was buried in Trinity Cemetery, River Hebert, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia.[2]
