George Forsyth Christie was born in Scotland in 1835. He was the son of Robert Christie and Jessie McKenzie.
George migrated to the Port Phillip in the Colony of New South Wales with his parents and siblings about 1840.

CHRISTIE—SMITH.—On thR 30th ult., St the United
Presbyterian Church, Fitzroy, by the Rev. R. Hamilton, George F. Christie, Esq., of Kelvin Grove, Upper Plenty, to Mary Ann Smith, of Preston, formerly of County Tyrone, Ireland.[1]
Mary Ann and their daughter Jessie drowned in a flooded river. George married again in 1872 to Margaret Jane Moorhead[2]
He passed away in Alexandra in 1885.
