Ralph, twin son of Charles Sylvester Chronister and Dora Viola Deardorff, was born 29 June 1905 in Adams County, Pennsylvania. In 1910, Ralph (4) and his twin Ruth Henrietta (4) resided in Huntington Township, Adams County, with their parents Charles S. (age 30, farmer) and Dora V. Chronister (30, mother of four, all living), as well as their brothers Murray Chronister (6) and Charles Curtis (2)
Two more brothers were added to the household in Latimore Township, Adams County, before 1920, when the family was composed of Charles S. (age 40, tenant farmer) Dorie V. (40), Ralph H. (14), Ruth H. (14), Murray (16), Charley C. (12), Chester Herman (8) and Emory Clinton (2).
Ten years later the family had moved again—to Carroll Township, York County, Pennsylvania—but only Murray had left the nest. Charles S. Chronister (age 50, farmer), his wife Dora V. (52), the twins Ralph H. (24, trucker, freight transfer) and Ruth H. (24), Chester H. (20, farmhand) and Emery C. (13) all remained at home. They did not move again before 1940, when the household consisted of Charles S. (age 59, farmhand), Dora V. (59), Ralph H. (35, farmhand), Ruth H. (35, house servant for private home), Chester H. (28, farmhand) and Emory C. (22, painter for building contractor), and Emory's wife Pauline F. (Gerber) Chronister (21).
There is no indication that Ralph married prior to his death on 24 January 1960 in Dillsburg, York County. He was buried there at Dillsburg Cemetery.
