DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Samuel by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA test-takers in his direct paternal line.
Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
I have found that Thankful and Josiah Brooks' son Samuel was born on April 2, 1716 in Hadley, Hampshire, Mass:
"Massachusetts Births and Christenings, 1639-1915," , FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FHGP-8BQ : 4 December 2014), Thankfull in entry for Samuell Church, 02 Apr 1716; citing , HADLEY, HAMPSHIRE, MASSACHUSETTS, ; FHL microfilm 363,889.
AND that he died September 14, 1751 in Sheffield, Berkshire Mass:
"Massachusetts, Town Clerk, Vital and Town Records, 1626-2001," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q29G-SMW7 : 5 November 2017), Thankfull in entry for Samuel Church, 14 Sep 1751; citing Death, Sheffield, Berkshire, Massachusetts, United States, , town clerk offices, Massachusetts; FHL microfilm 250,248.
Church-762, Church-2336 and Church-2663 are all listed as brothers with the same parents and all listed as being born in 1716. There are differences in spouse, date of death and whether children are listed or not but it is highly doubtful these two had a set of triplets and named them all Samuel Church :) I don't know if I should suggest profile merges or if it is possible for all p.m.'s and others to work together and see what needs to be changed but I am posting this on each profile.
By the way, I noticed it when working on their brother's profile...I saw lots of duplicates for both siblings and children so I'm starting here. Thanks! Becky Elizabeth (Simmons-11603)
