Coy was born in 1881 to parentsJoel Church and Nealia Carlton. He married Ida Nelson, they had 3 children together.Ida died at age 30, leaving Coy with 3 young children to raise. Ila Andrews married Coy they had 6 children together. They lived in Valmead, a part of Lenoir. He passed away at the age of 82.
