It's interesting that the death day and year on his tombstone are not quite the same as the death date on his death certificate. The death certificate gives: Mar. 15, 1873, while his stone says 14 Mar. 1874. ^[2]

Their marriage license was in Wood County, Ohio. The license was issued on 30 Dec 1871, but there never was a return by a Minister or Justice of the Peace. Since Viola did go by 'Church', I have to assume they did get married, possibly the next day, 31 Dec. 1871.
