1869 - NS Archives: - Birth Cert. - information on file confirms date of birth and parents. 1889 - Marriage Cert: by licence, at Glenwood, Free Baptist; He - age 20, bachelor, seaman, living in Brooklyn, She - age 24, spinster, living in Glenwood, 1889 - His son Louis's birth certificate shows his trade as a miller. 1893 - His daughter Gladys's birth cert. states he was a millwright. 1894 - His daughter Laleah's birth certificate states he was born in Dayton. 1895 - His son William's birth cert. states that he was a millman and deputy warden of Yarmouth Co., representing district 13 and his birthplace as Yarmouth North. 1901 - His daughter Bertha's birth certificate states he was a farmer and born in Dayton. 1901 census: Sub Dist. A, Arcadia, page 27 line 11 - male, white, head of family, age 31, Nova Scotia resident, natural Canadian, sawyer by trade, employed 11 months of the year, $500/year, living in Brooklyn, white family, 12 room house, 500 acres, 1 dwelling, 1 other building, as of May 1st. 1910 - Son Lewis's marriage certificate shows him as a moulder. 1939 - Marriage Cert. NSVStat. - Book 96, page 727, reg # 096727; 10 Oct. 1939 at Milton, Queens Co.; Walter - millman; lumber business; widower; age 69; Baptist; confirms parents; residing in Brooklyn; born in Yarmouth North; he could read and write; Estella May Killam - housekeeper; widow; age 69; born in Lake George, Yarmouth Co., NS; father was Albert Allen; mother was Mary Porter; she could read and write; married in the United Baptist parsonage at Milton, Queens Co., NS; licence # 45495; clergy - Henry Barber, Baptist; record filed 12 Oct 1939 by Ada M Strang. 1962 - Nova Scotia Archives: Death Cert: living on Small Gaines Rd., Brooklyn; male, Cdn., Eng., mrd., age 92/1/25, retired lumber mill owner. Cause of death - apoplexy, arterial schlerosis, hypertension; states his wife was (May) ?; confirmed parentage, informant - William Churchill, his son; interment at the Churchill Cemetery, Dayton by VS Sweeney Ltd., signed by Dr. GM MacDonald.
