David Cecil is Notable.

David Cecil was a member of the aristocracy in the British Isles.

David Cecil was son of Richard Cecil of Wakerley in Northamptonshire and his wife, Elizabeth Cope. ^[1] He was educated at Clare College, Cambridge, matriculating in 1620 and was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1627. ^[2]

He married Elizabeth Egerton, daughter of John Egerton and his wife, Frances Stanley. ^[3]

He was returned to Parliament in 1640 as member for Peterborough but on 6 July 1640 he succeeded his uncle William Cecil as Earl of Exeter and Baron Burghley and so had to resign his seat in the House of Commons.^[1]

David died on 18 April 1643 in Londn ^[3] and was buried at Stamford Baron. ^[2]He was succeeded by his son John Cecil, 4th Earl of Exeter.
