Biography

Samuel Claar was the son of George Washington & Mary Mercer Claar.

He married Elizabeth Masters, daughter of Ezekiel & Sarah Marshall Masters on May 26, 1844 in Jackson, OH.

Together they had 6 children: Mary Ann (married to Tillberry Crabtree), Sarah (married to Abraham Dixon), Julia Ann, John Irwin (married to Louisa Elvira McCoy), Priscilla J. and William E.Claar (married to [1] Elizabeth Samson and [2] Sophia Warner). I do not believe that Julia and Priscilla ever married.

Elizabeth died in 1881. He married, as his 2nd wife, Mrs. Mary Catherine Nance on 28 Dec 1886.

Samuel was born in 1824. He was the son of George Claar and Polly Mercer. He passed away in 1891. [1]
