Biography

Sarah was born in 1827. She is the daughter of George Claar and Polly Mercer.

She married 1) Hugh Gilliland on 20 Aug 1846 in Jackson County.[1] They must have divorced because Hugh took off to Kansas with Pollie Wyant. If Sarah had children with Hugh they would be: Mary , Melissa , John , and Philip , born between 1847 and 1854[2]

Sarah married 2) Daniel Spriggs, the son of Daniel and Sarah (Throckmorton) Spriggs and widower of Mariah "Mary" (Phipps) Gilliland, on 30 Sep 1875 at Jackson, Ohio.[3]

She passed away in 1917. Buried in Antioch Cemetery, Jackson County, Ohio. [4]
