Birth

Henry Wilhelm Claas was born on March 13, 1904[1], in Menomonee Falls, Waukesha, Wisconsin[1]. He was the son of William Claas[1] and Catharine Brahm[1].

In the 1905 Census, Henry W Claas was 1 year old. He was living with his father Wm 38, Mother Katie 28 and three siblings Gertrude 9, Anne M 2 and Katie 2 months. the family was living on a general farm that the family was renting. [2]

In the 1910 census, Henry W Claas was 7 years old. He was living with father William 44 and mother, Katie 37, six siblings Gertrude 14, Annie M 8, Katie A 5, Godfred J 3, John J 1, and William H age 0. Also in the home was Heinrich Claas age 76. The family was living on a general farm that the family owned in full. His mother had six children all living.

Marriage

He married Lydia Anna Gengler on September 5, 1928, in Granville, Wisconsin, when he was 24 years old. They had six children during their marriage.

  2. Raymond Gunther was born on February 26, 1931[3]
  3. Jerome John was born on April 27, 1933[3]
  4. Norbert A. was born on December 21, 1934[3]
  5. Joseph was born in 1936[3]
  6. Rita was born in 1937[3]

Home life

When henry was 28 years old, his father William passed away on May 3, 1932, in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, at the age of 65. three months later his mother Catharine passed away on August 31, 1932, in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, at the age of 54.

The 1940 Census indicated that Henry W Claas, age 36 was living in Menomonee, Waukesha, Wisconsin. On a farm he owned valued at $1,1700 dollars. Was living with his wife Lydia 34 and there six children Dorothy 10, Raymond 9, Jerome 7, Norbert 5, Joseph 4 and Rita age 3. John Claas age 32 was also living in the home[3].

His SSN was issued in Wisconsin (1955-1956)[4]

Death

He died on May 10, 1981[4][5], in Menomonee Falls, Waukesha, Wisconsin at the age of 77, and was buried in Saint Anthony Catholic Church Cemetery. Located in Menomonee Falls, Waukesha County, Wisconsin. [6]
