Charles William Clack was born on 18 November 1854 and baptised at St. Peter's Anglican Church, Sidbury (Albany area, near Grahamstown in the Eastern Cape). He is the son of George Clack and Maria Whitehorne. At the time the couple were resident at Welcome Wood, where George was a farmer.[1]
Charles married Mary Elizabeth Howes in the Wesleyan Chapel at Ncera (Middledrift) on 28 November 1876. Charles was a resident of King William's Town at the time of his marriage and Mary Elizabeth lived at Ncera.[2]
They had five children who were born and baptised in King William's Town, Cape Colony.[3]
Louisa Jane Clack: Born in King William's Town on 9 July 1883 and baptised on 12 August 1883.[8]
Lily Maud Clack: Born in King William's Town on 6 October 1887.[9]
Mary Elizabeth Clack (born Howes) died in Pretoria, age 72 years, on 13 February 1928..[10]
Death
Charles William Clack died in Johannesburg on 18 July 1932 of lobar pneumonia.[11]
