“Billy”[1] was born in 1817[2]. He was the son of Raleigh Clack and Martha Kerr. [3] He was a farmer [4]and justice of the Peace in Rhea Tennesee.
William passed away at the age of 92 in 1910.[5][2]
Married Isabella Wilson 1841 [6]
" He married Isabella Gist Wilson on September 2, 1841, in Rhea, Tennessee. They had nine children in 16 years. "
Army pension -stamped “Indian Wars” and notes he was a Corporal in Capt Boyd’s Company Tennessee Volunteers[11]
From FindAGrave -
“William was commissioned a Captain in the U. S. Army under President James K. Polk. He was assigned the duty of transferring Indians from east Tennessee to lands west of the Mississippi River.”
This does’t help fix the time as Polk was Tennesee Governor 1839-41, then President 1845-49, but most of the TN indian removal was 1838. (1836-39)
