Benjamin Eddins had moved from the Old Ninety-six District, SC to Tennessee about 1813. He, then, moved to Louisiana. After his marriage to Mary Ann, the couple moved to Madison County, AL. After Nathan's death, Susannah and her children, except for Mary Ann, moved to Independence, Washington County, TX, an early colonist of Texas, arriving with Steven F. Austin's second colony in early 1825. Susannah received a Mexican land grant in Washington County, TX.
