  • NOTE PROBLEM: In 1905 census, female child is called Anastasia with derived birthyear of about 1902. In 1910 census, there is no Anastasia but there is Emma, derived birthyear of about 1902. In 1915 New York Census, Emma is not mentioned but Anastasia is mentioned. Conclusion? Emma S and Ann Anastasia may be the same people but it's a stretch to imagine their names are so interchangeable. If this is permitted, I will add this same note to Emma S's record.

Miscellaneous: 31 Jul 1994 ROCKLAND REPORT Tomkins Cove native has early 100th Agnes Boyle is 98. Her kid sister, Ann Clancy, is 92. - On Sunday, more than 75 family members and friends attended a birthday party for Boyle at St. John's Church in Piermont. "We wanted to have a big party for mother when she reached 100," said her daughter, Margaret Drohan. "She's been getting weaker lately. We're afraid she might not make it. If she does, we'll have another big one then." Boyle was born in Tomkins Cove, and Clancy was born after the family moved to Yonkers, N.Y.; where the two sisters live now. Their father, John Clancy, was a boat captain who fell into the Hudson River in 1915. He died two weeks later of pneumonia. They still have strong memories of the early years in Rockland. - "I used to be sent down to the neighborhood store for milk," Boyle said. "I would walk home with the bottle, and then I would take it into the cellar of our home. That was the only place where you could keep milk cold." Boyle also enjoyed painting houses, and when she was as young as 12, she would journey back to the family residences in Tomkins Cove to paint.
