Biography
According to his obituary, Howard had lived in Rifle, Colorado since 1900, off and on. The obituary mentions that he "was married in Oakland, California four years ago" but gives no other details of this marriage. To quote the obituary:
"He died Saturday, May 11, in a Glenwood hospital at the age of 41 years, 4 months and 9 days. He had been sick for three or four years, gradually growing worse. The final cause of his death was dropsy."
"He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Carrie Eyre of Rifle; one sister, Mrs. John Martin of Piceance, Colo.; and one brother, W.E. Clancy of Rifle."
Note: Howard doesn't have a tombstone.
