Biography

Elizabeth Clapp was born 19 Dec 1647 in Scituate, Plymouth, Massachusetts.

Elizabeth Clapp married Thomas Rice (assumed a typo for King) April 20, 1669, in Scituate, Massachusetts. [1]

She passed away 18 March 1698 at Scituate, MA.[2]

Elizabeth Clap, of Scituate, daughter of Deacon Thomas Clap, born in Dorchester, England, in 1597, and came to this country with his wife Abigail, in 1633. He died in Scituate, April 30, 1684, a. 87. He was a deacon in the Scituate church, and was the ancestor of the distinguished President Clap, of Yale College. His father was Richard Clap, of Dorchester, England, 1550 to 1600.

1. Sarah King, b. 1669, m. Nathaniel Goodspeed, Sept. 21, 1705.

2. Thomas King, b. 1671, d. 1673.

3. Jane King, b. 1673.

4. Daniel King, b. 1675, lived in Marshfield.

5. John King, b. 1677, lived in Marshfield.

6. Mercy King, b. 1678, m. Samuel Winslow, 1703.

7. Ichabod King, b. 1680, m. Hannah _______.

8. George King, b. 1682, m. Deborah Briggs, July 12, 1710.

9. Anne King, b. 1684, m. Gershom Stetson, Jan. 29, 1712, (after her parents died.)

Wife Elizabeth died March 18, 1698, and he married June 15, 1699,
